The Uprooting is a short film that abstractly portrays three men in search of identity and truth, through an observation of their past.

The Uprooting portrays three young men who are searching for their place in the world. The viewer is warped into an abstract navigation of seven themes, each of which is explored through creative audiovisuals which morph from scene to scene, utilizing symbols and psychological undertones to dissect their content.

“Hey, why did you come here? Do you love your mother? Did your father ever love you?” The three artists, each from a different European small-town, are faced with the same demanding and uncompromising set of questions about their past in order to determine their place in the present. The film is a dynamic examination of how memory relates to identity, where fragments of three personal stories are made to construct an independent work of art.
